The state-run Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) is presently without a chairman and a director general.
According to reports, the president has agreed to appoint Prasad Samarasinghe as its chairman.
An appointment letter is to be issued once media minister Bandula Gunawardena returns from a foreign trip, said his ministry.
Ministry secretary Anusha Pelpita has already recommended an extension of service for Asanga Jayalath, who has completed his six-month contract as the director-general.
Until such time he is given an extension, or the appointment of a new DG, the ministry’s additional secretary (administration) E.M.S.B. Jayasundara has been posted as the acting director general of the SLRC.
