Legal professionals have launched an initiative to help women fined by courts over minor offences.
Objectives of AMOUR were announced to the media at Hotel Nippon in Colombo yesterday (29).
Its convener Nirupa Serasinghe said they would financially and legally assist women imprisoned for failing to pay fines after obtaining a list of such women.
Also, they will be helped to return to normal life, she said.
Funds would be raised for the initiative at a fashion show by lawyers to be held on July 07 at Galle Face Hotel, Colombo.
