The cabinet that met yesterday (28) afternoon under the chairmanship of president Ranil Wickremesinghe approved the domestic debt restructuring programme proposed by the finance ministry.
Thereafter, all government MPs who were gathered at the Presidential Secretariat were notified about receiving the approval.
The proposal will now be submitted at the next parliament session for discussion.
Meanwhile, speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena has issued an extraordinary gazette notification convening parliament on July 01.
