Sri Lanka’s 400 m mixed relay team was disqualified for a lane infringement after initially bagging a silver at the Asian Games.

The team comprised Anura Darshana, Nadeesha Ramanayake, Kalinga Kuamrage and Tharushi Dissanayake.

They clocked 3 minutes 14.25 seconds, but were disqualified after it emerged that Darshana, running the first lap in lane three, had crossed into lane two when exchanging the baton.

Bahrain took gold with a time of 3 minutes 14.02 seconds, followed by India claiming silver, while Kazakhstan, who finished fourth were upgraded to bronze.
