Dasun Shanaka will remain as ODI captain for the Cricket World Cup, an SLC official confirmed to the Daily Mirror.
In the days following the shocking Asia Cup final defeat to India on Sunday, Shanaka received criticism from several quarters regarding his recent performances, with many calling for him to be removed as captain for the upcoming Cricket World Cup.
However, selectors have shown faith in Shanaka by retaining him as captain, although the final composition of the squad is still to be determined.
“There are still some injury concerns so once we have assessed that, the squad will be decided,” an SLC official, speaking on condition of anonymity told the Daily Mirror.
