India has scripted history by beating Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023 final in Colombo in one of the shortest matches in this format by ten wickets.

Chasing a moderate total of just 51, Indian openers Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill struck a few fours to get things moving for them, chasing their first multi-team tournament trophy since winning the Nidahas Trophy in 2019.

For India, Mohamed Siraj led the annihilation of Sri Lanka as he took four wickets in one and six overall for just 21 runs in seven overs.

Apart from him, Hardik Pandya also took three wickets for three runs and Jasprit Bumrah took one as Sri Lanka were bowled out for 50 in 15.2 overs.

India finished the chase in 6.1 overs, making it the third-shortest full-length ODI ever.

It lasted all of 129 legal deliveries.

This is India's eighth Asia Cup title.
