Sri Lanka is likely to miss the services of Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera at the upcoming Asia Cup, as both are nursing injuries.
All-rounder Hasaranga, who excelled both with the bat and the ball at the LPL 2023, suffered a hamstring injury during its latter stage.
Following a MRI test, Sri Lanka Cricket’s doctors recommended between three and four weeks of rest for him to recover.
With eyes set on the World Cup, the SLC is unwilling to risk him playing in the Asia Cup.
His probable replacement is leg-spinner Dushan Hemantha.
In the meantime, Chameera is having a shoulder injury.
His absence of will give Kasun Rajitha a place in the squad for the Asia Cup.
