SJB MP Nalin Bandara said yesterday (21) that a person from India was the brains behind the Easter Sunday terror attacks.

Joining the House debate on the attacks, the MP identified him as Abu Hind, and said he had had one-to-one secret talks with Zahran Hashim.

This is confirmed by the evidence given by Hadiya, the wife of Zahran, said Bandara, and questioned as to why the mastermind was not being investigated.

Abu Hind was an ‘avatar’

The truth about Abu Hind came to light at the recent briefing for MPs organized by the public security ministry.

There, the head of the TID said that India's intelligence agencies conjured up Abu Hind as a technical persona or avatar to engage with those influenced by the terrorist ideology of the Islamic State when it gained traction in Sri Lanka.

India gathered more accurate intelligence information regarding the attacks with the help of such avatars.

The creation of such avatars forms a key component of global intelligence agencies' ongoing strategies.

They play a pivotal role in surveiling terrorist groups, identifying their networks, and assessing the threats they pose.
