People will no longer be misled by the bogus patriots who created Indian and American phobias and carried lion’s flags on their chests, said leader of Nawa Janatha Peramuna Sugeeshwara Bandara.
Also former private secretary to ousted president Gotabaya Rajapaksa, he was giving a speech at the opening of an office for UNP organizer in Kalutara Sunil de Silva.
Bandara said the true owner of the mandate given by 6.9 million people was ex-president Rajapaksa only.
He said no one should hold meetings purportedly to safeguard that mandate.
Speaking further, Bandara said the country needed a leader capable of curbing violence, managing international affairs, dealing with the World Bank and bringing foreign investments.
The best option for that is incumbent president Ranil Wickremesinghe, he added.
