MP Chamal Rajapaksa has called for the implementation of the Janasabha (village council) system in the entire Hambantota district.
It is presently in force successfully as a model project in the Mirijjawila Grama Niladhari division.
As chairman of the district development committee, Rajapaksa made the call at a meeting of the committee on 09 April.
Also present on the occasion was acting director general of the Janasabha Secretariat Akalanka Hettirachchi.
