Police protection has been given to the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) headquarters at T.B. Jayah Mawatha in Colombo 05.
This follows a complaint by the party’s acting general secretary Sarathi Dushmantha to Maradana police that some files have gone missing from the office.
Since then, police keep the gates to the premises closed, and last morning (06) Dushmantha arrived with electoral organizers for a meeting.
His request to hold their discussion at a nearby building was turned down.
Dushmantha then telephoned the OIC of Maradana police, but failed to obtain a favourable response.
Thereafter, he sent a letter to him, explaining matters.
