Chief of the Mawbima Janatha Party Dilith Jayaweera has accused leaders of the JVP of leading luxurious lives at the expense of party funds.

Addressing his party’s Kurunegala district meeting yesterday (21), Jayaweera also charged the JVP of having defaulted on tax payments.
He said funds of all political parties should be audited and subjected to income tax.
According to Jayaweera, the party that speaks about catching thieves is a thief itself, and advised it to first catch many thieves present within the party.
We should question how leaders of that party justify their running trade unions and leading lives of luxury, Jayaweera added.
