A monk accused of insulting Buddhism has been arrested again by the police computer crimes division.
Ratnapure Wimalabuddhi alias Vishva Buddhimuni was out on bail, when he was taken into custody last night (20).
He stands accused of ignoring court orders and continuing to create religious dissention.
Colombo chief magistrate Prasanna Alwis on 18 January ordered the police to produce him before the court on 24 January.
Arrested for insulting Buddhism via TikTok, he had been remanded before being granted bail.
The CID is to inform court about the money credited to the suspect’s bank accounts in recent times.
