The chief custodian of Ruhunu Kataragama Maha Devale surrendered to the CCD this morning (27).
Somipala T. Ratnayake is wanted over the disappearance of a gold plate offered to the Devale.
He was arrested upon his surrender and will be produced before the courts in Tissamaharama.
Police recorded a statement from him that lasted nearly three hours.
His family previously complained to Kataragama police that he had gone missing.
Another suspect, the stores custodian of the Devale, surrendered on 19 December and is presently out on bail.
