SLPP parliamentarian S.B. Dissanayake said that if elected the sports minister, he would resolve issues surrounding cricket within one week in consultation with the ICC.
He was speaking to Neth News.
MP Dissanayake said the sports ministry and Sri Lanka Cricket should cooperate to resolve their issues.
Asianmirror.lk website reported that Dissanayake is enthusiastic in his politics after media reported that he is to be appointed the sports minister if Roshan Ranasinghe resigns.
He is already getting congratulatory calls, it said.
Attempts to speak to him over the phone for a comment failed.
