The opposition has demanded Prof. Ranjith Bandara to resign as chairman of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE).
If he refuses to do so, the SJB said it would move a no-confidence motion against him tomorrow (20).
Its MPs told parliament that they vehemently opposed any investigations into irregularities at Sri Lanka Cricket with Bandara continuing as the COPE chair.
Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena said an investigation into
Bandara’s conduct would take place.
He decided to suspend COPE sittings indefinitely.
Bandara has refuted the allegations being leveled against him.
