Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has questioned the presence of the son of the chairman of the Committe on Public Enterprises (COPE) Ranjith Bandara at a committee meeting.

Raising an issue of privilege in parliament today (16), Premadasa said even he had been banned from attending COPE meetings.

He said parliament officials had taken no action over his participation.

Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena said he was unaware of the incident and that he would inquire into the matter.
