Parliament will have to take responsibility if the ICC imposes a ban on Sri Lanka over political meddling accusations, said minister Kanchana Wijesekara.

He was speaking during the House debate on a proposal to remove office-bearers of Sri Lanka Cricket that was subsequently passed without a vote yesterday (09).

Meanwhile, president Ranil Wickremesinghe has stressed that band-aid solutions should not be pursued to resolve the Sri Lanka Cricket crisis.

The only solution is to implement the report submitted by the Committee headed by Justice K.T. Chitrasiri to introduce a new constitution to Sri Lanka Cricket through a parliamentary act, he said.

He revealed that the ICC had discussed the Sri Lanka cricket crisis, adding that he fears it may lead to a negative outcome.
