Leader of Mawbima Janatha Party (MJP) Dilith Jayaweera has promised to build a country of which all could be proud of.
He made the promise at the inaugural district conference of the MJP, in Galle yesterday (05).
The leading entreprenuer has already declared intentions to contest the next presidential polls as a common candidate.
“If anyone thinks that we are playing a game, or experimenting, they are wrong. There is no SLPP any longer. We are the SLPP. We are the 6.9 million. That cannot be marketed cheaply,” he said.
The event at Galle Town Hall was attended by party chairman Dr. Sarath Amunugama, senior leader Hemakumara Nanayakkara and members of the party’s executive council.
Also present were a large gathering representative of political, business and entrepreneurial fields.
