Incumbent Inspector General of Police (IGP) C.D. Wickramaratne has been granted a service extension of three weeks today (03), police spokesperson SSP Nihal Talduwa said.
The decision regarding the appointment of a new IGP or whether the incumbent will be granted another extension was a hot topic in political circles over the last few days.
This is the fourth time Wickramaratne has been granted an extension of service.
