MPs of the FPC signed a letter to SLFP chief Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (08) in support of Dayasiri Jayasekara,
who has been stripped of the general secretary position of the SLFP.
It took place at an executive committee meeting of the FPC at Waters Edge Hotel in Battaramulla, where Jayasekara too, was an invitee.
Organized by Thilanga Sumathipala, it was also attended by MPs Prof. G.L. Peiris, Wimal Weerawansa, Udaya Gammanpila, Prof. Charitha Herath, Weerasumana Weerasinghe and Athuraliye Ratana Thera.
Later, Jayasekara told the media that he had no intention of joining either the SJB or the UNP.
