SJB MP Mujibur Rahuman has asked the president to handover investigations into the Easter Sunday terror attacks to an international team of investigators.
Speaking to the media yesterday (07), the MP said fresh revelations made by Channel 4 television would benefit the whistleblower Azad Maulana if the government fails to investigate the attacks properly.
Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who had come to power with a promise of a probe, transferred the investigators immediately upon assuming duties.
Investigations under his rule have missed crucial questions which are yet to be answered, said Rahuman.
Those and the latest exposures in the C-4 documentary need to be investigated properly without claiming the channel has history of enmity with the Rajapaksas.
Rahuman said it is well known how Ranil Wickremesinghe covered up court cases against the Rajapaksas during the good governance regime, and it remains to be seen if he will be rational now either.
