Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has spoken about the need for a special force to protect schoolchildren from drugs.
Children and the schools system have fallen prey to the menace as confirmed by parents of both urban and rural schools, he said on 25 August at a meeting of the parliament forum on children.
Stronger laws and effective countermeasures are essential against the children-centred drug trade, said Premadasa.
