A total of 83,825 members of 26,157 families have been adversely affected in four districts hit worst by the prevailing drought, said the Disaster Management Centre.
Jaffna alone has 69,113 (21,714 families) people affected, followed by Puttalam, where 19,208 people (5,861 families) hit by the drought.
Trincomalee too, has 8,979 people of 2,746 families affected.
