Three people have been arrested in Moratuwa with a new type of narcotic drug in their possession by the Central Anti-Corruption Task Force (CACTF) at Walana in Panadura.
According to the CACTF, the drug 4-MMC was found from the house of a millionaire businessman at Samanpura.
The businessman and two others involved in the smuggling of the drug into the country have been arrested.
Acting on a tip-off, the CACTF raided the three-storey house and arrested the businessman’s 29-year-old son as he was packing the drug.
On information revealed by the youth, another millionaire businessman who smuggles the drug into Sri Lanka was arrested at his home in Attidiya.
The Moratuwa magistrate’s court permitted the police to detain the suspects for 72 hours for questioning.
