The speaker has received several formal complaints that question the conduct of the chairman of a certain parliamentary committee, reports said.
Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena said these complaints would be investigated and necessary action taken.
The committee chairman in question is using powers that he does not possess to act detrimentally to certain parties, it is alleged.
Among the complainants are several staff members attached to this committee.
