Sri Lanka will rest injured pace bowler Dushmantha Chameera for the first round of the World Cup qualifier now underway in Zimbabwe, according to Ada Derana.
Suffering from swelling and pain in his right pectoral muscle, Chameera hasn’t featured in any of the games Sri Lanka has played so far.
Sri Lanka meet Ireland today (25) after winning their two previous outings against the UAE and Oman.
The first round will be followed by a super six round and the two finalists will qualify to play in the 2023 ODI world cup.
