Gota holds Bodhi Pooja to mark 74th b’day

Ex-president Gotabaya Rajapaksa marked his 74th birthday yesterday (21) with a Bodhi Pooja at Gautama Vihara in Narahenpita.

More than 60 leading Buddhist monks were present on the occasion.

Among them were Most Ven. Ittepane Dhammalankara Thera, Most Ven. Wendaruwe Upali Thera, Most Ven. Omare Kassapa Thera, Ven. Bellanwila Dhammaratana Thera, Ven. Prof. Medagoda Abhayatissa Thera, Ven. Muruttettuwe Ananda Thera and Ven. Diviyagaha Yasassi Thera.

Politicians in attendance included Chamal Rajapaksa, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Shasheendra Rajapaksa, Vijitha Berugoda, Prasanna Ranaweera, Kapila Dissanayake, Sampath Atukorale, Sagara Kariyawasam, Manjula Dissanayake and Rohana Dissanayake.
