The world’s best-known debate happens at the presidential election in the United States, where debates take place even during the primaries, said opposition leader Sajith Premadasa.
Those debates focus on their services in the education, environment, health and economy in the previous four years, he said.
A certain socialist who had been flattering North Korea and Cuba has now opened his eyes about the developing nations.
What that socialist says is that debates cannot take place over things that had been done, Premadasa said after handing over a smart classroom to Sangharaja Maha Vidyalaya in Keragala, Dompe yesterday (08).
They had been embracing Lenin, Marx, Stalin until recently, and are today touring to world to find out reasons as to why there is no progress under socialism.
At the same time, they utter lies to the people through the media, he said.
Debates should take place about one’s deeds, and it is unfortunate that such persons say that is not possible, he added.
