An alleged attempt to abduct three schoolboys in Mannar by a group in a white van has turned out to be a hoax, said police spokesman SSP Nihal Talduwa.
No evidence has been found during investigations to support their claim in complaints made on May 07 and 08, he said.
The SSP added that an investigation is now underway to determine if they had made the complaints under duress.
