The United People's Party led by minister Tiran Alles held a party meeting in Nuwarwa Eliya recently.
Speaking on the occasion, its political secretary Hemapriya Kaviratne outlined their vision and objectives.
Unlike all other parties in the country, the UPP is having a unique people-centric slogan of stepping to the people.
The motto of other parties is victory for their leader only, he claimed.
In recent history, especially the youths came forward and called for a new political system.
Minister Alles is a leader who has identified that requirement and entrusted his party’s responsibilities to the youths, said Kaviratne.
He also said the winning candidate at the upcoming presidential polls would contest under a party led by minister Alles.
The winner’s symbol could be the ‘mobile phone’ because a smart leader should contest under a smart symbol, he added.
