The main suspect in the suspicious death of a 16-year-old girl in Kalutara has been arrested.
Tihara Nirmani Nissanka, a grade 11 student of Kalutara Girls’s School, was found dead near a five-storey lodge just days ago.
The wanted man, a businessman aged 29 and married, was taken into custody in Galle in the early hours of this morning (09).
He will be produced before courts to obtain an order for his detention, police said.
Three others, including another girl who had taken Tihara, purportedly to a Vesak Dansala, are already in remand custody.
The dead girl did not have any love affairs and was a talented student interested in her studies, said her mother.
