The Samagi Jana Balawegaya has decided to suspend the party membership of MP A.H.M. Fowzie for having gone against party decisions.
Meeting yesterday (08) afternoon, the party’s working committee took the decision in the immediate aftermath of Fowzie’s supporting the House resolution on the IMF’s extended fund facility.
The disciplinary committee will deal with Fowzie as well.
He was appointed to the seat vacated by Mujibur Rahman, who resigned to contest as Colombo mayor.
The WC has empowered SJB leader Sajith Premadasa to discipline anyone who goes against party decisions.
