The Colombo High Court has permitted the attorney general to amend the charge sheet filed against Colombo’s Swiss embassy staffer Garnia Bannister Francis, who was allegedly abducted in 2019.
Judge Namal Balalle took up the case yesterday (03) and fixed the next hearing for June 15.
The local staffer of the Swiss embassy was arrested by the CID on December 16, 2019 and accused of exciting disaffection against the government and fabricating false evidence to be used in a future judicial proceeding.
Francis has allegedly filed a false complaint with the Cinnamon Gardens po0lice that she had been abducted near St. Bridget’s Convent in Colombo by an armed group who arrived in a white van.
