The SJB is prepared to support the government if it adopts a proper economic policy that protects the poor and the working class, said its MP Eran Wickramaratne.
Speaking to journalists, he said the present government’s economic model has dealt a severe blow to the average masses.
The SJB believes in a social market economy, he said, adding that its support to the government depends on that basis.
Wickramaratne questioned the government’s social security plans that are yet to materialize even after two years of talks with various groups and organizations.
