Actress Damitha Abeyratne was seen on the political platform for the first time, when she took part in a SJB rally in Polonnaruwa yesterday (22).
The event was presided by opposition leader Sajith Premadasa.
Abeyratne said on the occasion, “We waged a struggle to expel the Rajapaksa thieves. It was not to expel every leader in the country. But, we did what we promised to do. That struggle had no leaders. All are false stories. Now, so-called leaders of the struggle come seeking votes. The struggle had no leaders. It was a struggle by everybody. All were leaders. I bow my head in salute to those who took part in that struggle.”
