Chairman of the Election Commission Nimal Punchihewa has rejected certain media claims that he is about to resign from his position.
He said it was futile even to respond to such false reports.
The EC is making arrangements to hold the local government polls, Punchihewa said.
He said the resignation of one of its members, P.S.M. Charles, about which he is yet to be officially intimated, would not disrupt the EC’s quorum or holding the election.
