A leadership council has been proposed for the SJB-led opposition alliance due to be launched next month, reports 'Deshaya' newspaper.
This council will assist the leader of the alliance, who will be Sajith Premadasa.
Ranjith Madduma Bandara is expected to be general secretary of this alliance.
The SJB has strongly objected to a request by an MP from the south that he be made its deputy leader.
It has now been revealed that Dullas Alahapperuma has made that request, which Premadasa is yet to respond to positively.
