Saunders Sports Club celebrated a big win at the Yusoof Cup Under 19 Championship, triumphing over Colombo Football Club with a 1-0 victory in the final.
The thrilling game took place at the City League Football Complex in Colombo.
Led by captain Sandun Rajapaksa, Saunders SC secured the win thanks to Mohomed Mufasal’s goal in the eighth minute of the match.
The road to victory wasn’t easy.
In the semi-final, Saunders SC defeated Java lane Sports Club with an impressive 4-0 scoreline.
Vihanga Nimasha scored two goals, while Mohamed Afam netted two more.
Earlier in the quarter-final, Saunders SC showed their strength by defeating Young Silver Sports Club 3-0.
Dilan Kaushalya serves as the coach for the Under19 team of Saunders SC, supported by Assistant Coach Dinara, Goalkeeper Coach Mohomed Siyam, and Manager Jagath Rohana.
The tournament lasted for a month and included 12 teams from clubs affiliated with the City League Football Association.
It was an exciting month filled with competitive matches and impressive performances.
