D.A.D.G. Peramune of Vidyaraja College in Ratnapura has won the Nestle Sri Lanka schools half marathon event for boys.
He took one hour and 16.22 minutes to cover the 21-km distance at the race held at Galle town on 11 November.
S. Kiran of Mulankavil Central College (one hour and 17.22 mts.) and Ukpitiya Central College’s E.P. Lasitha (one hour and 18.13 mts.) won the second and third places respectively.
More than 300 runners participated in the event.
Also, a five-km exhibition marathon event was attended by 1,400 runners.
