Sri Lanka's Tharushi Dissanayake won gold in the women's 800 m at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, clocking 2 minutes 03.20 seconds.
She beat India's Harmilan Bains, who finished second with a time of 2:03.75 and defending champion Chunyu Wang of China in third place with 2:03.90.
Gayanthika Aberathna, who also competed, finished last with a time of 2 minutes 05.87 seconds.
Sri Lanka also won bronze in both the men’s and women’s 4 X 400 relay events.
