President Ranil Wickremesinghe is to resend his recommendation to the Constitutional Council that Sanjay Rajaratnam be given a six-month extension as the attorney general,

Earlier, the CC voted to reject the recommendation.
Also, Wickremesinghe is to write to CC chairman and speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, inquiring about the legality of the three civil society representatives in the CC objecting to the extension in a single letter, said a spokesman for the Presidential Secretariat.
