A 45-year-old man and two women have been arrested in Pulmoddai for inhumanely assaulting a four-and-a-half-year-old child, after a video of the incident went viral on social media.
Police said that the two other women were also arrested on the charges of aiding and abetting the assault in the Arisimale area of Pulmudai, early this morning (05).
Police said that they are residents of Welioya Kalyanapura area.
Police further said that the 4-and-half-year-old-child who was brutally beaten was also taken into their custody.
It is reported that the child taken into police custody has been produced before the judicial medical officer (JMO).
