Policies that are confined to documents only cannot develop the lives of women, said NPP MP Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.
She urged the government to be more realistic in its efforts to uplift them.
Speaking to the media yesterday (04), she said her party would introduce several amendments to a bill tabled by the government on women empowerment.
Amarasuriya charged that the funds for the women and children’s affairs ministry have been curtailed by half.
