President Ranil Wickremesinghe wants an immediate fence-mending meeting between SLPP founder Basil Rajapaksa and MP Nimal Lanza, "Deshaya" reports.
Quoting political sources, it says the president has suggested the meeting to Lanza, who agreed, but insisted he would not change his stand.
With the meeting expected in the coming week, MP Wajira Abeywardena has been tasked with acting as the intermediary between the former two buddies.
Lanza’s New Alliance has strongly objected to Basil’s presence at Wickremesinghe’s election operations committee meetings.
