The New Alliance formed by the Anura Yapa and Nimal Lanza group together with the Nimal Siripala de Silva faction of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) will hold its inaugural public rally at Ambalantota junction on 08 June.
SLFP senior vice president Mahinda Amaraweera is making arrangements for the meeting.
A number of MPs from leading parties have expressed a desire to attend, said Amaraweera.
Speakers on the occasion will be Nimal Siripala, Anura Yapa, Susil Premajayantha, Duminda Dissanayake, Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Nalin Fernando, S. Viyalendran and Nimal Lanza.
The second rally of the New Alliance is due to take place in Monaragala on 28 June organised by State minister Jagath Pushpakumara.
