A powerful politician in the south has swindled nearly Rs. 25 million from 500 youths with a promise of sending them for employment in Korea’s agricultural sector.
Not a single one of them has so far been able to secure the job promised.
Without holding any competitive examination through the government, this politician has obtained Rs. 40,000 each from these youths and also charged Rs. 1,500 too, for a six-day training at Makola for 60 of them.
He has told them that he has secured 50 job opportunities for Tissamaharama area.
It was two months ago they had handed him their documents, including a police report.
