The Election Commission is presently making preliminary arrangements to hold the presidential polls this year.
It has given relevant instructions to its officials at district level.
The commission is empowered to call for nominations after 17 July, with the election expected to take place in the first week of October.
For campaigning, up to 35 days will be given to the candidates.
