There has been an increased incidence of cybercrime this year, said the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team.
Its senior engineer Charuka Damunupola said they received 423 complaints so far in 2024.
They relate to scams on jobs, loans and cryptocurrency, pyramid schemes, nude pictures, fake social media accounts, hacking etc.
Last year, SLCERT received a total of 1,609 complaints.
