A complaint has been lodged with the Bribery Commission against a Rs. 3.8 billion fraud in the import of a substandard cancer-treatment drug called trustuzumab.
The citizens’ power against bribery, corruption complained yesterday (11) the scam had taken place from 2015 and 2018.
Its chairman Jamuni Kamantha Thushara said instead of the medicine with the brand name Herceptin, the Russian-made Herticad had been imported during the period.
The accused are the then health minister Rajitha Senaratne, health secretary Anura Jayawickrama, NMRA chairman Lal Jayakody and two pharmacists.
